All 12K participants will receive a participant shirt, finisher medal, and a free beer after the race (21 years and older).

- All runners who register for two races will receive a $10 total discount..
- Maximum of one (1) shirt for runners who participate in two races.
Central States Beverage Company will be buying each participant (21 years of age and older) a complimentary beer at KC Live! in the Kansas City Power & Light District. Present the beer tear away from your bib at McFadden’s Sports Saloon (1330 Grand Blvd), along with a valid form of I.D., to receive a Miller Lite or Boulevard Wheat. Offer valid Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

NOTE: In order to protect our participants and insure a safe event, each individual participating in this event must be officially registered under his or her own name with accurate personal information. Failure to do so will void the registration and prohibit participation. Registration entries and race numbers cannot be transferred to another person under any circumstances or used by registrant in subsequent years. Registration fees are non-refundable in all cases regardless of inability to participate or event cancellation. The race director reserves the right to cancel the event because of weather, natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstances which pose a significant danger to the participants.
The race will go on regardless of weather conditions. However, if it is determined that it is unsafe to walk/run, the race director reserves the right to cancel the event.

Race Day Parking:
Click here for the parking map to find locations to park for the race. Complimentary parking will be offered to all participants of the Big 12 Run at two parking garages along 11th Street. The first garage entrance is located at 1120 Oak Street. NOTE: This garage is located on the race route. Participants may not be able to leave until the race is completed.
The second garage entrance is located at 11th Street at the corner of Cherry. Both of these garages will be free of charge for all participants. The Kansas City Sports Commission is not responsible for fees charged at other parking locations.
KC Streetcar Option:
Avoid traffic on race day and ride the KC Streetcar to the start/finish line. Free surface lots are located at 7th and Main (limited space available). The streetcar begins at 7 a.m. Take the streetcar to the Metro Center stop (12th & Main) and walk 2 blocks east on 12th Street to the start line. Click here to see the streetcar map.

Kansas City’s Big 12 Run will allow families with strollers to participate in the 5K and 1 mile races. Due to safety reasons, strollers are NOT permitted on the 12K course.
Note: No headsets, motorized vehicles, roller blades, bikes or dogs will be allowed on the course. Baby strollers and baby joggers will be allowed in the 5K and i mile only. Protection will be provided at all intersections by the Kansas City, MO police department and/or volunteers.
Prizes will be awarded to the following:
12K – Overall Male and Female:
First Place Male: $1,000 in Phillips 66 gas, two tickets to the Championship game
Second Place Male: $500 in Phillips 66 gas
First Place Female: $1,000 in Phillips 66 gas, two tickets to the Championship game
Second Place Female: $500 in Phillips 66 gas
5K – Overall Male and Female:
First Place Male: $750 in Phillips 66 gas, two tickets to the Championship game
First Place Female: $750 in Phillips 66 gas, two tickets to the Championship game
1 Mile – Overall Male and Female:
First Place Male: $500 cash – $300 (1st place), $150 (2nd place), $50 (3rd place)
First Place Female: $500 cash – $300 (1st place), $150 (2nd place), $50 (3rd place)
Age Group Categories of Winners Men and Women:
17 & under, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.
Everyone that crosses the finish line will receive a finisher’s medal.
All Results will be finalized on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. This is to ensure accurate information and placement for all participants. Overall event winners in each race category are excluded from age group awards.
