Finish Line Festival presented by Sprint
Because of the feedback we received from our participants, we are excited to bring Kansas City style BBQ back to the Finish Line Festival this year. The BBQ will be free for all participants! We are proud to partner with Operation BBQ Relief who will be preparing and serving the delicious BBQ following the race.
Operation BBQ Relief was founded in May 2011 in response to a need for relief efforts in tornado-stricken Joplin, Missouri, a community of about 50,000 residents. Volunteers from competition BBQ teams from eight states answered the need to help feed displaced families, police, fire, National Guard and emergency personnel. Operation BBQ Relief strives to provide compassion, and offer hope and friendship to those whose lives have been affected by disasters across the United States. They leverage their expertise in cooking and catering barbecue meals with their ability to quickly mobilize their teams into areas where disaster disrupts and tears apart lives of Americans in its path. The group is currently in California providing meals to families who have been impacted by the terrible wildfires.
Thanks to Central States Beverage! Central States Beverage will be providing all participants (21-years and older) a beer after they finish the race. Central States Beverage is located right here in Kansas City where they provide and distribute several product lines in both Kansas and Missouri with case volume in excess of 5 million per year. Central States will once again provide a variety of beers for runners at the Finish Line Festival presented by BNY Mellon, including options from hometown favorite Boulevard Beer. Here is our 2017 Finish Line Festival beer menu:
