2010-Volleyball-1242010 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championships

The Kansas City Sports Commission, UMKC, Convention and Visitors Association and Sprint Center staffs will travel to Tampa, Florida this month for the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship as we make plans to host the event in December 2010.


Bull Ring Midget Nationals

BullRing_logo_124Little cars, big attitude – it’s the Lucas Oil Bull Ring Midget Nationals Presented by Lucas Cattle Company!  Experience the excitement of high-energy midget car racing on December 18 and 19 at Kemper Arena.  Supporting classes include the Modlites/Dwarf cars (a crowd favorite from last year), and the 1200 Outlaw Lightning Winged Sprints.  You’ll get to see the future stars of racing both days, as they’ll be racing their Quarter Midgets on a specially constructed 1/20-mile dirt track, built inside the big track!  This year’s event will have a $5,000-to-win Friday night race, a $10,000-to-win Saturday race, plus a No Bull payout of $3,500 for the top three point finishers each night.  Drivers scheduled to appear include Bryan Clausen, Jerry Coons Jr., Danny Lasoski, Jason Leffler, Josh Wise, Cory Kruseman, Austin Brown, Brad Loyet, Cruz Pendergon, Brad Kuhn, and many more!

The Kansas City Sports Commission and numerous outstanding volunteers successfully hosted the Missouri State High School Girls Volleyball Championships last month in Municipal Auditorium.  The championships drew a near record-breaking attendance with more than 5,700 fans over the two days.
