Spectator zone contest
As we grow the Garmin Kansas City Marathon into a major destination race, one of our goals is to increase the number of spectators on the course and provide runners with an unforgettable experience.
We are excited to partner with Johnny’s Tavern again this year for a spectator contest for the 2025 Garmin Kansas City Marathon! Three lucky cheer zones will win a Johnny's Tavern gift certificate that can be used at any of Johnny’s Kansas City area locations! The most memorable cheer zone (as voted by our runners) will win a $500 Johnny’s Tavern gift card; second place will win a $300 Johnny’s Tavern gift card, and the third place most memorable cheer zone will win a $200 Johnny’s Tavern gift card. Here’s how the contest works:
We encourage you to pick a spot along the race route and make signs and/or provide giveaways that express your support for the runners
After the race, runners will vote on the most memorable cheer zone on the Garmin KC Marathon course
The most memorable cheer zones as voted as our runners will receive their Johnny’s Tavern gift cards within 1-2 weeks after the race. This gift card can be used for a neighborhood picnic, holiday party, or any other neighborhood celebration event.
Even people who would never consider running can have a great time with our race – a marathon is truly a unifying event that an entire city can celebrate. Our course allows us to showcase many of Kansas City’s most beautiful, unique areas, including downtown, 18th & Vine, the Plaza, Waldo, Brookside and Westport, and we want people in these neighborhoods and throughout the city to line the streets and show runners what Kansas City is all about!
