EVELYN GATES AWARD

NOMINATION AND AWARD PROCESS

  1. Nominations for this award will be accepted only from high school varsity head coaches.

  2. Coaches should nominate one Primary Nominee from their own team, and three Secondary Nominees from another team or teams. Any submission with fewer than four names will NOT be accepted.

  3. All nominations are due by 5 p.m. CST on Friday, October 11, 2024. The top four nominees (with their statistics) will be posted on Monday, October 14, 2024.

  4. Coaches will then be asked to vote again ranking each finalist with a number 1-4. Coaches must rank ALL finalists 1-4. Ballots which do not rank all four finalists will not be counted. Rankings will determine the finalist with the lowest total; who will be the winner. In the event of a tie, the finalist receiving the most No. 1 votes will be chosen. Final votes will be accepted until Thursday, October 24 at 5 p.m.

  5. The award which includes a traveling trophy and a $500 stipend to the school's athletic department will be awarded after the conclusion of the Kansas and Missouri State Volleyball championships.
