Three-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Misty May-Treanor Named Featured Guest for 2027 Women’s Sports Awards Presented by Burns & McDonnell

KANSAS CITY, MO (October 5, 2026) – WIN for KC, Kansas City’s local nonprofit working to empower women and girls through sports, announced Misty May-Treanor as the featured guest of the 2027 Women’s Sports Awards presented by Burns & McDonnell. The annual awards program is WIN for KC’s biggest fundraiser and largest luncheon in the country celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Tickets are now available for purchase here.

Misty May-Treanor is a three-time Olympic gold medalist and one of the most accomplished athletes in the history of beach volleyball. Alongside her longtime partner Kerri Walsh Jennings, May-Treanor captured three consecutive Olympic gold medals at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, cementing her legacy as one of the sport’s all-time greats. A member of the Volleyball Hall of Fame, she has continued to inspire athletes and audiences through her leadership, mentorship and commitment to advancing opportunities for women in sports.

The 2026 Women’s Sports Awards presented by Burns and McDonnell will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2027. The event features six awards honoring and celebrating women and girls throughout the Kansas City area making a difference through sports and fitness.
