EVELYN GATES AWARD NOMINATION FORM

NOMINATIONS OPEN SEPT 21 AND CLOSE OCT 9 AT 5PM CST

NOMINATION AND AWARD PROCESS

  1. Nominations for this award will be accepted only from high school varsity head coaches.

  2. Coaches should nominate one Primary Senior Nominee from their own team, and three Secondary Senior Nominees from another team(s). Any submission with fewer than four names will NOT be accepted.

  3. All nominations are due by 5 p.m. CST on Friday, October 9, 2026. The top four nominees (with their statistics) will be posted the following week.

  4. Coaches will then be asked to vote again, ranking each finalist with a number 1-4. Coaches must rank ALL finalists 1-4. Ballots which do not rank all four finalists will not be counted. Rankings will determine the finalist with the lowest total, who will be the winner. In the event of a tie, the finalist receiving the most No. 1 votes will be chosen. Final voting will open Monday, October 19, 2026, and close Monday, October 26, 2026, at 5 p.m. CST.

  5. The award includes a traveling trophy, a Helzberg ring, and a $500 stipend to the school's athletic department.
